Abstract

This work presents results of a theoretical and probabilistic analysis of an imaging technique of semitransparent media using a thin low-coherent light beam. The technique is based on holographic and tomographic processing of the interference pattern formed by superposition of reference and scattered light. The high-frequency signal entering the spectrometer and the low-frequency image recorded by the image sensor are analyzed. We define the notion of the energy image and investigate the statistical characteristics of its speckle-structure. The process of semitransparent medium coherence imaging is modeled statistically. The theoretical and statistical results presented in this article are obtained for the first time.
