Lay summary
Research projects, as well as governmental traffic management, frequently underestimate theimportance of pedestrian and cycle traffic for environmentally friendly mobility. In its firstphase, this project prepares a comprehensive survey of previous experiences, and a secondphase will investigate in depth obstacles for the support of increased pedestrian and cycle traffic. Key Questions:
To what extent, and under which conditions, can pedestrian and cycle traffic increase their modal split share?
What obstacles hinder implementation of measures in favour of pedestrian and cycle traffic?
Where are the research gaps?
Various research institutes have combined their efforts to form a research team. A conferencewill conclude the project.
