Es geht insbesondere um Hardwareanpassungen für das 500 MHz Spektrometer, mit dem vor allen Dinge Klein-Molekül NMR Spektroskopie sowohl in Lösung wie auch im Festkörper betrieben wird.

Upgrade der NMR Facility der Universität Zürich

Die in diesem Antrag bewilligten Mittel werden dazu eingesetzt, das 500 MHz Spektrometer der Universität aufzurüsten, so dass es wieder auf dem neuesten technischen Stand ist. Dazu wird die Elektronik getauscht sowie einige Probenköpfe erneuert.

 

Nach diesen Anpassungen sollte es uns wieder möglich sein, NMR Spektroskopie im Bereich der Klein-Molekül NMR auf dem neuesten Stand zu betreiben. Anwendungen sind insbesondere nicht-Standard Kerne sowie spezielle Festkörper Anwendungen. Diese Resultate sollten die Forschung der chemischen Institute der Universität Zürich insbesondere im Bereich der Materialwissenschaften und der Katalyse stärken. Die neue Hardware zeichnet sich durch verbesserte Stabilität aus. Zudem wird es uns in Zukunft möglich sein, Methoden des non-uniform sampling (NUS) einzusetzen. Zudem werden alle Spektrometer damit in Zukunft von einer einheitlichen Software angesteuert, so dass sich der Betrieb für die Doktoranden und Masterstudenten vereinfacht.

Abstract

The NMR Core Facility at the Zurich_Irchel campus provides all institutes and their research groups with support in the measurements of NMR experiments. The Facility is jointly operated by all institutes from the Chemistry Department.With this proposal we intend to renew electronics of one of our 15 years old 500 MHz spectrometer. In addition we want to upgrade an exisiting cryoprobe to expand its range of applicability, purchase a solid-state probe for the same system and add a few hardware improvements to the other spectrometer. With these modifications we bring all NMR equipment that is needed in the areas of materials, catalysis and metal-biomolecular interactions to a state-of-the-art state again.
