Lay summary
The international conference - organized by the KOF Swiss Economic Institute (ETH Zurich), the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID), the Faculty of Economic Sciences (University of Göttingen), the Department of Political Science (University of Geneva), the Institute for Political Science (University of Zurich) - brought together economists, legal scholars, and political scientists working on the political economy of international organizations, in particular the United Nations (UN), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the European Union. All papers presented and discussed adopted a political economy approach but dealt with very diverse questions related to the aforementioned international organizations. A series of papers were also presented in a lively poster session, which allowed mostly younger scholars to obtain valuable feedback on their work.
