More than 70 years have passed since Erst Rabels seminal work "Das Recht des Warenkaufs". Since then no attempt has been made to take a comparative view on sales law on a global scale. But still, the trad of goods takes the lead in the unification of law and transcending national frontiers. The CISG has brought uniformity into international trade, however, this uniformity must be preserved and further developed to provide legal certainty and stability for companies engaging in trade. The Handbook on Sales will bring together different legal cultures, traditions and systems with people of all six United Nations laguages and German. It will show similarities and differences between legal systems and point out possibilities for more uniformity. It is therefore valuable to a broad spectrum of readers, be it practicioners, students, scientists, inhouse counsels or people involved in legislative processes.
