This grant contributed to the purchase of a high throughput imaging system (ImageXpress) for our core facilities. Projects that are ongoing due to this device include: The role of cytoplasmic actins in cell migration (C. Chaponnier), Ca2+ regulation of mitochondrial pH (Nicolas Demaurex), Identifying reagents blocking endothelial cell migration and angiogenesis (Beat A. Imhof), Neuronal differentiation of embryonic bodies Karl-Heinz Krause, Screening and validation of pharmacologically active compounds that induce Pax4 expression and b-cell expansion (Benoit Gauthier), Gap junctions in controlling insulin secretion (Paolo Meda), Mitochondrial fission and apoptosis in pancreatic B cells (Claes Wollheim).
