Lay summary
This project aims at the publication of ca. 50 mostly unpublished Greek papyri which are kept at the Geneva University Library.http://www.ville-ge.ch/musinfo/bd/bpu/papyrus/index.phpThose are both literary and documentary texts, ranging mostly from the fourth till the seventh century AD (with a few from the third cent.). The tasks involved are the description of the papyri, decipherment of the texts - often in a mutilated state -, translation and commentary. The final product will be an edition of texts, which should in the first place add to the corpus of existing publications of papyri. It should also provide some new material for specialists of Greek literature, religion (esp. Christian), language, ancient history, institutions.
