Lay summary
Over the past 12 months, we have published key papers on the full-waveform inversion of crosshole radar data and the first tomographic scheme for inverting 2-D surface nuclear-magnetic resonance data. We have also introduced new attribute-based approaches for enhancing ground-penetrating radar images and applied these approaches to data acquired across the active Wellington, Malema, Alpine and Ostler Fault Systems in New Zealand. In February-April of this year, we acquired a comprehensive 3-D high-resolution seismic reflection data set across the Alpine Fault and thirteen 2D high-resolution seismic reflection profiles across the Ostler Fault.
During 2007, sixty-seven papers were either published, accepted for publication or submitted for publication in first-class international journals or books by members of the ETH Applied and Environmental Geophysics Group. A further six short (4 printed pages) articles appeared in conference proceedings volumes. Members of the group gave 13 invited and 23 submitted talks.
