Abstract

In this article, by means of ultrafast optical spectroscopy, we demonstrate that a Peierls phase transition inducing charge ordering in a complex 3D solid can take place. We clock the characteristic time of the melting of such charge order and describe the atomic motions and orbitals involved in the process.
