Lay summary
Using neutron scattering and muon spin rotation (muSR) techniques we plan to experimentally study the interplay of magnetism and superconductivity in selected unconventional superconductors. Of particular interest in this project are phase transitions between different superconducting states, particularly those that are related to changes in spatial structures of the superconducting state with magnetic field. Examples of such structures include vortex lattices that appear in type II superconductors in the presence of external magnetic fields and, the recently found Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state in Pauli-limited type II superconductors, characterized by a spatial modulation of the superconducting order parameter. Also of interest are novel magnetic fluctuations and long-range magnetic order in the superconducting phase.
