Lay summary
Human social interaction is mediated to a large extent by nonverbal behavior. In psychiatric patients, the disturbance of nonverbal interaction seems to be particularly relevant for the severity of the disease. Methods are developed to indentify the spectific aspects of this disturbance. The longterm aim is to develop psychotherapeutic approaches which address the disturbance of nonverbal interaction.
