Lay summary
The conference aims at presenting a wide range of current and exciting directions across Mathematical Physics: from Quantum Field Theory to String Theory, from Quantum to Statistical Mechanics (equilibrium and non-equilibrium), including related developments in pure mathematics. The speakers comprise almost 30 internationally leading researchers, who will present their fields in ways accessible to a public consisting mainly of physicists and mathematicians. The breadth of topics is inspired by the diverse interests and accomplishments of Juerg Froehlich, whom the conference is dedicated on the occasion of the 61st birthday. Further details are available at www.itp.phys.ethz.ch/juerg60/

The support by the SNF, which is gratefully acknowledged, makes it possible to cover the travel expenses of several speakers from overseas.
