Lay summary
Using new methods for statistical inference for time series of palaeo-environmental records, the aim of this project is to quantify changes in past environmental conditions. We analyze temporal patterns in pollen, charcoal and oxygen isotope records using sample measurements from sites in Switzerland and elsewhere. Special attention is being given to abrupt climate change events such as the Younger Dryas.
